Texas Treks

Austin, TX

01.24 | Austin, Texas, 2.5 hour flight from west of Nashville

I recently visited Austin, TX for work and I was truly inspired by all the texture around me. It reminded me that trekking is really a mindset and not confined to just a forest or a park.

When I’m traveling for work it’s important that I maintain as much of my routine as possible - which includes walking and time outdoors.

Each morning while in Austin, I’d walk Congress Avenue drinking hot coffee from Jo’s (don’t sleep on the Laura Palmer as an alternative to coffee). Austin feels a lot like Nashville, but the plant life is so different. I was in awe of the large succulents and cacti all around. I appreciated how safe I felt walking the city.

If you’re in the area, don’t miss staying at Hotel San Jose, grabbing coffee at Jo’s (right next door), chow down on tacos from Joann’s (just a few doors down), and dine under starry lights at Aba (Mediterranean cuisine).
